Erin Vassilopoulos (they/Erin) is a Greek-American director and writer making personal, genre-bending films. Their first directorial feature SUPERIOR premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and is currently streaming on MUBI. Erin's follow-up feature DESTROY ALL GIRLS (co-writers Ani Mesa-Perez and Gil Perez-Abraham) premiered in the Concorso Cineasti del Presente Competition at the 79th Locarno International Film Festival in August 2026.
They are currently developing A MALL AND THE NIGHT, a psychosexual thriller unfolding in a dying shopping mall, and IF ONLY TONIGHT WE COULD SLEEP (co-writer Ariane Hahusseau), a Gothic/body horror tale of insomnia.
In addition to filmmaking Erin has directed music videos for Horsegirl, Parquet Courts, NOIA, Thus Love, and The Wants.
